Hard rock and guitar duels

”Hard progressive 70’s heavy with an unreasonable amount of guitar solos” – that’s how Michael Denner describes the musical foundation of his new band Denner’s Trickbag, which was formed in 2012. And that was exactly what was in store during two intimate concerts on January 25th and 26th at a small venue in Copenhagen, Denmark, which was also the unofficial world premiere of the band. Among the 120 invited guests each evening you would find everything from curious people with a general interest in rock music to confirmed Denner-fans who has been following Michael Denner through his many years on the heavy metal stage, and bands such as Mercyful Fate and King Diamond.

Roskilde Festival 2012

Roskilde Festival – 8 days, 130.000 audiences and volunteers, 1 million liters of beer and 200 music artists from all over the world. An event a lot of people look forward to year after year. The unique camp life at Roskilde Festival is a central part of the grand Roskilde experience. Roskilde Festival is the party you can’t have in many other places. A place where people opens up and allows themselves to do things they would normally get arrested for on the street in a big city. The break from the daily routine that recharges your batteries and brings you closer to people you don’t know. Fellowship, party, colors and boundaries being pushed. Spontaneous dancing party under a random pavilion, to happy guys in sailor costume shooting their way through the camps with a soap bubbles gun, a person carrying a large speaker on the bag spreading rhythms on his way from one area to the other. People smile – it’s just Roskilde. For a moment you’re in another world.

Combining passions

I’m happy that I can now finally present to you my new web site. I recently came to the conclusion that it was necessary for me to find a new publishing platform and move my web site, since the last solution was too expensive for me. Now I’ve gathered it all at WordPress instead. Rather than adapting my web site to fit WordPress I chose to create a new. I had a couple of things I wanted to improve, among them the navigation through both the portfolio and the blog.

Happy holidays, to all

Christmas is upon us so I thought I would leave with you one of my recent photographs for the holidays. I shot the picture above at my grandmother’s apartment just a week before Christmas. When this small church finds its way to her windowsill in early December it’s a sure sign of Christmas when the warm lights from the small paper windows lights up at the darkest time of the year. So it has been for more than 25 years, and for her grand children especially it brings back memories from bygone Christmases. In the middle window of the church there’s a small hole which itself brings remembrance. It was made many years ago by small children fingers drawn by Christmas landscapes on the windowsill.

Quick update and a word on post processing

I’ve had a whole lot to tend to lately and it has been a while since my last blog post. I’ll try to compensate for it with this blog post featuring a couple of photographs and a word on post processing.

As you may know I did some travelling in Morocco back in August where I succeeded in capturing a bunch of photographs depicting the life I experienced around me. I have some plans to use these photographs for different purposes. First and foremost I’m planning to create a new gallery on my website in which you can look forward to see a range of pictures which has not yet been published.

The last rays of summer

In Denmark the weather gods has much to say. The seasons change and the weather follows. The cold half-year of fall and winter with storms, snow and dark days, gathers families in the warmth of their homes. The warm half-year of spring and summer once again welcomes people…
